You simply describe the nature of the issue, provide your name, date of birth, and your local number, and you will be contacted by one of our counsellors.
As a local member, you do not have to contact your local union office, all correspondence is done directly with the M.A.P.
Your call will be returned within the day, and your appointment with a mental health counsellor will be scheduled. These appointments take place by phone, online or in person. The main client services office is located in Ottawa and is supported by mental health workers across Ontario.
You will be given up to eight sessions of one on one counselling; after which, your status will be reviewed and sessions may be extended if warranted.
The service is meant to be a temporary support, to help with the pressures of life in a timely manner.
Your contact with the M.A.P. and the contents of your discussions with your counsellor are not shared with the union local, with your employer, or anyone else. All communication and meetings are held in complete confidence.
